Training your pet to take care of dog squeaky toys is quite important and using a toy box is a great idea to do this. Dogs are playful by nature. They sometimes get into the habit of chewing things. Shoes, bags, and other items lying around the house fall victim into the jaws of a dog chewing away its anxieties. Dog squeaky toys are important to help your pet dog live a healthy and happy life. You can give your dog a variety of toys to keep it busy and amused like dog squeaky toys, Frisbees, balls, stuffed toys, etc. It also helps train your dog not to chew on other things. There are dog squeaky toys that you can give your pet that it could play with even when unsupervised. This will give you some peace of mind when you leave your house, and no more coming home to a battered pair of shoes or missing flip-flops or designer jeans.

Giving your dog a variety of dog squeaky toys that it could play with at all times helps prevent dog boredom. Allow these toys to be accessible to your dog. Dogs often tend to misplace toys, and you’ll have a hard time looking for the toy. The best remedy for this is to train your dog how to use a toy box.

Use a Toy Box

Your dog’s toy box need not be expensive or too fancy. A wooden or plastic box will do well. Make sure that box is low and sturdy enough for your pet dog to access and rummage through the selection of dog squeaky toys that you will place inside the box. This becomes a good exercise for your dog as the task of looking through the box provides for an added excitement. Place different dog squeaky toys in the box for which the dog can choose from. You may rotate the toys in batches and place only a batch of toys at a time. This will help your get accustomed to playing with different toys.

Place the toy box where your dog can easily access it. You may want to place it in the area of where your pet dog spends a lot of time. Dog toy boxes are also great for puppies because it teaches the puppy which items they are only allowed to play with.

Soon your dog will get used to the idea that the toys are all coming from the toy box. Your pet dog will find no need to play with other items in the house because the dog squeaky toys are accessible easily. Keep track of the dog toys, show your dog how you pick up these dog toys and return it to the toy box. Your dog will soon learn the habit of returning the toys in the toy box. Occasionally reward your dog with new dog squeaky toys. This will add fun to the activity and your dog will love the idea of seeing a new toy in the box every once in awhile.

Monitor the condition of the toys. Make sure that all dog toys in the toy box are in proper order. Discard old and worn out toys even if your dog like it so much. Replace old dog squeaky toys with new toys so that your dog will not wander around looking for its discarded toy. All of us adore the cute bit, but we tend to resent the curiosity especially when the living room furniture happens to be the subject. Puppies have no other way of getting to know their surroundings except by their noses and their mouths, and so you’ve got to do all you can to try and minimize the damage, without curbing their enthusiasm. This is where dog squeaky toys come in. Dog squeaky toys will take care of you puppy’s constant need for attention.

Dog Squeaky Toys – Few Facts

Puppies will chew just about anything. So you might refrain from getting her a toy, but they’ll find other things – your sports shoes for starters.

They get bored too, so buy different kinds of dog squeaky toys and keep changing them or they will look for other forms of entertainment.

Dog squeaky toys made for dogs are different from the ones made for other pets or children. Buy them ones that are made for them.

Don’t leave your pup completely alone with the toy. Check on it from time to time to ensure he doesn’t choke or swallow anything

Fleece toys are good for pups. They’re soft and warm- just what a pup wants. However buy ones that don’t have the fleece coming off.

The perfect size for your pup is that which is not small enough for your pup to choke, and not so large that he cannot take it in his mouth.

Nylabones and rawhide chews are good for your puppies to chew and swallow.

Rope toys are a great option for their durability and their dental care qualities.

Canvas dog squeaky toys are great to chew and really soft, but they destroy easy too.

A ball is a great and must-have toy for a pup. Chasing balls around the house is the best exercise your pup can get.

Although dog squeaky toys are a great way to keep your puppy busy and off the furniture, there is something about furniture that dogs simply love. Uncannily, they simply can’t resist it for too long. So while you’re away at work, your pup might be working away at the furniture. Your dog can do this even if he has dog squeaky toys to play with. Sadly unlike your kids, you pup can’t be grounded or yelled at. It’s not that effective. Along with buying toys, puppy-proofing your home is very important. Do the following to ensure minimal damage:

1) Place really old and cheap rugs around the house. The kinds you can throw away after some time

2) Keep plants, papers, small chewable objects, objects made of glass and other delicate material away from the pup’s reach

3) Electrical wires need to be removed or taped or tied up together, away from the pup.

4) Secure anything that the pup can pull down or climb over.

Also, like children puppies need to be brought up in a certain environment in order that their behavior is governed and doesn’t get out of hand. There are some rules of training and raising a pup.

Training Your Pet

1) Giving a pup too many dog squeaky toys has the same effect it does on a child. It spoils them. It is essential for the pup to understand the difference between what’s a toy and what is not. Dog squeaky toys are good and a great help but too many toys blur this boundary for the pups.

2) Confining your puppy is important at times. Use a crate or a wire-reinforced puppy gate to ensure your puppy’s safety when you cannot supervise him. This gate is meant to keep your puppy safe; as such it is essential to make your pup feel safe inside the confine. Attach a positive significance to the confine by encouraging the pup to sleep in it, or feed him in it, or put some chewing dog squeaky toys inside it. Do not use the craft as a means of punishment for the puppy.

3) Nothing works better for the pup than outdoor exercise. A pup needs his outdoor play time in order to relieve and spend his energy, especially those who tend to be destructive indoors. Teach him to play with a ball, retrieve a stick and you’ll exercise his physical as well as mental capacity. However, you need to ensure he’s received all his shots before letting him play outdoors or with other dogs, otherwise it might not be a very safe option.

4) Train your dog with dog squeaky toys properly so that your dog can handle the toys well and take care of them too.

Some Kong Dog Squeaky Toys that didn’t quite measure up to the expectations are the following:

Stuff ‘n paste – This is a bit messy to handle. The peanut butter’s paste consistency was not thick enough to hold on to the grooves of the toys so there is a tendency for it to drip on the floor and even leaves stains on carpets, sofas, sheets. It is even better to use a can of Easy Cheese instead to place in Kong Dog Squeaky Toys rather than their recommended Stuff n’ Paste flavors. Easy Cheese cans are also less expensive compared to Stiff n’ Paste.

Puppy Ziggies – These treats sometimes can hardly fit in King Toys and had to be served to the puppy as is. Serving must be supervised as the treat tends to be slippery once wet with the puppy’s saliva. But puppies do love these.

Although I’ve mentioned that Stuff n’ Tots are great treats for puppies, the downside about this product is the packaging. The container of which these treats are packed in vends out several treats instead of one at a time. This often results to spillage of treats which can be quite annoying. If Kong Dog Squeaky Toys could design a canister for these treats that will hand out one treat at a time, then this item could be perfect.

Most of Kong Dog Squeaky Toys appeal to younger dogs and puppies. Older dogs seem to tire of these toys quite easily.

Over the years, Kong toys has been able to produce a good line of quality dog toy products that allow pet owners to choose from a variety of items. Purchasing several items and combining their use can be fun. But it is not necessary to purchase all of their items. Kong Dog Toys have created a fine dog squeaky toys line. Although their items are a bit expensive as compared to other brands, its indestructible quality may seem worth it in the long run. But having several items of this brand may be too excessive.

Read on for more information.

Why Dog Squeaky Toys?

Dog Squeaky Toys have been designed to appeal to your dog’s vestigial preying instincts. Dogs have evolved from wolves and although they’re quite homely and domesticated, their wolf-like programming runs too deep. Dog squeaky toys cater to this instinct and allow your dogs to remain dogs. You wouldn’t want to take that away from your dog now, would you?

The Separation Anxiety

Have you heard of separation anxiety? It’s what your dog suffers from when you aren’t around. (That’s the reason it’s called the puppy dog look.) But now you can assure your best friend that you’re always around. Dog Squeaky Toys are able to absorb and give off the owner’s scent better than most other toys. Thus every time your dog is playing with the toy, he feels you’re with him and that makes them happy and secure.

Basic Instincts

Dogs have been instinctively programmed to perform an action and perform it very efficiently – and that is to seek and destroy. This is what your dog loves doing. Give him a chew toy that lasts his lifetime, and you take this love away from him. Give him a Plush Dog Squeaky Toys and he gets to indulge this love, over and over and over again.

Giving your dog a chew toy keeps them entertained and not bored. Dogs are active animals, they want to keep doing something, chasing, chewing, digging or running around. It can get quite tiring for most owners to keep up with their dog’s energy levels. And dogs can get very edgy if you don’t give them enough time. Boredom will absolutely kill your dog mental health. Dog squeaky toys keep them occupied and out of your way when you’re busy. They will love having something to do. In fact watch a dog tear that chew toy into pieces and you’ll see the joy of achievement on his face.

Among the many varieties of dog squeaky toys around, you can’t ignore the plush dog toys models. In fact you will find the Plush Dog Squeaky Toy at many retail outlets and shopping malls, in different designs, sizes and price ranges.

Different Shades

Plush Dog Squeaky Toys come in various animal shapes – in fact some of them look so cute you’d have a hard time figuring out whether you want to give it to your dog or keep it next to your bed. You’ll find turtles, whales, dolphins, piglets, octopuses and what not. In fact I have a black turtle that I bought for my dog, but it’s now with my little one. I just couldn’t stand the thought of my dog shredding it to pieces. So I end up buying something very neutral shaped, for instance the iBone.

I bought my dog what looks like a yummy bit of sausage and my pet can’t get enough out of munching it. It’s called the Loofa Sausage Dog. The second toy I bought is an adorable little yellow duck that quacks when you squeeze it.

Plush dog squeaky toys have probably made the greatest invention that puts to rest the owner’s worry of toys being shredded and fulfills the pet’s desire to shred. The ‘Tear Apart’ plush toy comes with Velcro straps that the dog has fun tearing and you just have to stick them back together.

The range of toys is exhausting when it comes to Plush Dog Squeaky Toys. But you have to ensure that the chew toys are made of organic, non-irritating material and non-toxic dyes. Ensure that your dog remains healthy while chewing away.

Dogs Have Personalities

Your dog also has a personality and so you will want to pick a toy keeping his persona in mind. Some dogs like the squeaky toys while some find them disturbing. Some dogs like carrying the toy around and some will want to cuddle up with them. Your dog’s age will also determine how much he likes to chew on the toy. All these factors will determine what kind of dog squeaky toys you want to buy for your dog.

If you get a toy that’s too large for your dog’s mouth, he will probably stop chewing it. (It hurts their egos to know that they cannot push the toy around.) That would be a really sad situation. You get a toy that’s too small your dog might just swallow it. (Either that or he will be done and bored with it in a few minutes.) Perfectly sized Plush Dog Squeaky Toys that are durable will keep your pet happily chewing away. It’s also important that you pay a little attention to your dog while he’s busy chewing, lest he swallow a part.

Although the local pet shop will offer you toys for your pet, nothing beats the collection at our online store. If you are a dog owner you will routinely face yourself with these problems. So you dog’s chewed up a piece of furniture again? No matter what you do and how hard you train them, they just won’t let go of the chair leg? The bigger your dogs, more is the damage. At such times, good, durable dog squeaky toys are a great idea. However, there’s a very good chance that if your dog can eat through furniture – the chew toy will not last long. Fortunately for you, you’ve come to the right place – the Dog Squeaky Toys website – your one-stop shop for all the dog toy needs and solutions.

How long your furniture is going to be subjected to the torture of being chewed upon depends upon what dog you’ve got. I’ve accepted the fact that as long as Barker, my 2 year old Labrador has teeth – he will continue chewing, merrily so. I’ve also accepted the fact that Rob, my one year old retriever pup will continuing chewing until the furniture grows teeth and chews him back. (Although, I’m not sure if that’ll stop him either.) Well dogs are funny and that’s why we have dog squeaky toys.

Since I got Barker, my life has been a mission for truth – well, not exactly, but the truth behind what some of the dog squeaky toys claim to be and whether they really are value for your money. I’ve made some startling revelations. Although some toys have fulfilled their claims, many, I discovered, have only chewed upon my pockets.

Revelation 1: The Kong brand dog squeaky toys do not last very long. Barker was through with it within 2 days of chewing. Agreed that I had bought it for Rob when he was a few months old AND that Barker is a few pounds overweight than what the toy can handle, but two days? That’s it? Given their reputation and rating, it was a pretty sad situation for me and Barker.

Revelation 2: Barker could enter the Guinness Book of world records for chewing a toy up in the fastest time. He was done with the Booda brand’s ‘Dogzilla’ dog squeaky toys in twenty minutes flat. This was my second experience with these dog squeaky toys, the first one being a similar disappointer when I had a Promerian. I went back to the store the next day armed with the receipt, original packing and a conceited grin. Too bad I didn’t record Barker at it.

Revelation 3: Truth, at last! I found one, and it’s stayed for 2 years. Presenting the Nylabone Rhino Cone dog toys that Barker adores. I usually stuff these dog toys with treats (since its hollow) and Barker loves to work his way to them. It’s also got this bouncing thing going on, so my dogs are chasing it all over the yard. I also found another one – courtesy Rob’s trainer. It’s the Double Action chew. These dog squeaky toys are shaped like a barbell and have a minty flavor. Both the dogs can’t get enough of it.

Revelation 4: Truth does triumph! I found one that triumphed for over 3 years – and how! I bought the Hartz’s Chew-n-Clean dog squeaky toys (supposed to be good for your dog’s dental health) and Barker’s been at it for more than four years now, without even getting through the surface. It has now been passed onto Rob and both have not been able to make so much as a dent in this wheel of cogs.

Revelation 5: Holee Truth. I found the JW ‘Holee Roller’ dog squeaky toys to be quite a hit with my boys. I stuff the webwork like ball with biscuits and other goodies and my dogs keep at it, until they manage to get the biscuits. It keeps rolling around the house every now and then. I like giving my dogs some exercise every now and then, so I tie up old socks around the thing and watch them pull and pull and pull. These dog squeaky toys are great fun to play with.

Revelation 6: Holee Truth II. This other chew toy from JW is the most ‘funniest’ toy we’ve ever had. (It’s fun strictly for those of you who like loud annoying sounds). The JW Cuz Dog Squeaky Toys. These are 2 squeaky little balls that make the most annoying sound until the dog chews and finds what exactly is making the noise. Eventually the squeaker is found and dies. My dogs then squeeze the squeaker out of the ball. These balls come in a pair of two – a good Cuz and a bad Cuz. The bad Cuz has 2 little horns on its head (which btw, look extremely cute). They also have little legs, although it doesn’t take very long for them to get handicapped. But apart from that, the Cuz is still going pretty strong

Revelation 7: If all else fails, get the rope. I’m talking about the Tire Biter Paw Tracks Dog Squeaky Toys. I got my dogs. The first one I bought had a six inch rope and lasted about 9 months. The second one I’ve got has a 10 inch rope and my dogs can’t seem to get the whole thing into their mouth (which is a good thing). In both cases, even after the toy was destroyed, it was still used as a tug of war apparatus.

Dog squeaky toys are a great way for my dogs to live out their days when they were still wolves. Back then they ate raw meat, now sadly it’s been replaced by raw wood. Although the object’s changed, their ‘wolf mentality’ hasn’t. Get dog squeaky toys for your pet today! It’s worth it.
Teach your dog that everything, even the dog toy, belongs to you. This will allow you to take full control over the situation. It will train your dog to play only with toys that are given to him. This will also teach your dog not chew on things such as shoes or other expensive items in the house.

It’s important that your dog understands that he should not run off with the toy while playing with it. Dogs are quite playful by nature. I will tell you a simple idea I have found quite effective. You can train your dog not to run away with the toy by using a leash at first. This will help your dog understand that it should not go too far away when given the toy. While running off unrestricted is fun for the dog, perceiving control (by you, for instance with a leash) will go a long way in making the dog think, learn, and remember.

Teach the dog how to gently retrieve a toy from your hand. Quietly offer the dog toy from your hand. Observe how your dog takes the toy away. If your dog takes the toy by snatching it, take the dog toy back and place it near your chest somewhat communicating to your dog that the toy belongs to you. Offer the dog toy again, if your dog makes the same move, pull the toy back before its teeth touches it. Repeat this step until your dog learns how to gently take the toy away from your hand. Offer a treat once the dog successfully completes this step.

Once your dog has learned how to retrieve a toy from your hand. You can try using several toys at one time. This is a good exercise to teach your dog how to retrieve and return toys to you. You can do this by offering one toy to your dog and then tossing the second one. Your dog will retrieve the toy that you tossed, and while your dog is retrieving this toy, toss the other one. Soon you will be able notice that your dog will be capable of retrieving a toy and returning it to you.

When your pet can handle dog squeaky toys properly, teach your dog where to place the toy after playing with it.

While you try out these tips, I recommend that you personally supervise your pet when using dog squeaky toys. Once your dog is trained how to handle a toy, you can give him all sorts of dog squeaky toys to play with. Make sure though that the dog squeaky toys you give to your dog are big enough for it to swallow. This will prevent your dog from possibly choking on the toy or on some loose part of the toy. Choose the tougher kinds of toys during training. Once your dog is fully trained to play with dog squeaky toys, you may then give him other types of dog toys to play with, such as chew toys. Always check if the dog toys are in proper condition. Replace old and worn out ones with new ones as you don’t want your dog to get bored with his dog squeaky toys.

Training Your Pet

Training your pet with dog squeaky toys is a great idea. There are many types of dog toys that you can buy for your pet. Each type of toy has its own benefits for your dog. Some dog toys are meant for chewing, there are also dog squeaky toys that are meant for a more proactive game such as throw and catch. When using dog squeaky toys as training material for your pet, matching the right type of dog toy to the activity that you want to teach is important. Not only does it teach your dog to use items what they’re meant for. It also teaches the dog to associate things that can only be played with. This in the long run will train your dog not to chew on items that they’re not supposed to chew on.

Dog squeaky toys will certainly help to boost your dogs’ intelligence and overall compliance. Although there are many varieties to select from, there are also other factors that you need to consider when choosing the right toy for your pet dog. For one, you need to choose toys that your dog can handle easily. Consider the size and the age of your dog. For puppies, dog squeaky toys are best to start with when choosing your dog’s first toy.

Dog Squeaky Toys- The Smart Dog

If there are occasions wherein you play with your dog with activities such as throw and catch, Frisbees and throw bones has always been the choice. The problem with bigger dog toys is that they are not as manageable for dogs who are just starting with their training or for younger puppies. Dog squeaky toys come in different sizes that dogs can easily handle. The sound coming from the toys also allows you to train your dog to associate different items through different sounds.

While training your dog, you can also use dog squeaky toys as a form of reward for tasks that the dog was able to learn or complete. Remember that your dog might want to spend a lot of time playing with its toy. Choose one that your dog can play with even when unsupervised.

Dog squeaky toys also help clean dogs’ teeth and strengthen their gums. There are squeaky dog toys that are out in the market which manufactured safe for dogs to chew on. These squeaky dog toys are free of chemicals that may be harmful to the health of your dog. Check the item label first before buying. Make sure that it says non-toxic. You might also want to purchase several squeaky dog toys at one time so that you can rotate the use of each toy, this will help the toy last longer.

Although overall, such toys are meant to be items to amuse your dog, they can also be used as effective tools to make them smarter. Incorporate dog squeaky toys during your training routine, and your pet dog will soon be able to learn how to handle things smartly and avoiding instances of chewing on items that there not supposed to be.
Dog Squeaky Toys - Basic Care

Dogs love to chew, that is a fact and dog squeaky toys are the perfect choice to make your beloved pet happy. We often give our pet dogs chewy toys to play with which they cling on and have so much fun with. But how do you keep dog squeaky toys looking like new? And what about those old worn-out dog squeaky toys that your dog would not give up? How do you replace them?

Like any type of item or material, even squeaky dog toys are bound to get worn out eventually. The good thing about dog squeaky toys out in the market is that they last longer as compared to the ones that were being sold a few years back. Squeaky toys that are in the market right now are more durable and more resistant to wear and tear. However, we still need to make a few steps to take care of these toys. Here are few tips on how to make these dog toys lasts longer:

You can give your dog as many dog squeaky toys as possible. This will allow you to rotate the use of each toy so that the toys will last longer.

Do not give all the squeaky toys to your pet dog at once. Keep the other toys in a safe place. Keeping the other dog toys in a dog toy box would be great idea.

Wash each toy before hiding it or before handing it your dog. There are squeaky dog toys that are machine washable. Make sure to use low heat when you want to machine dry the toys.

Check if the squeaker in the toy is properly positioned. Repositioning the squeaker allows proper drainage in toy, less clogs are bound to happen. In cases wherein the squeaker toy gets water clogged, you can simply shake the water out of the toy. Have your dog to force air into the squeaky toy by allowing the dog to chew or squeeze the toy.

If your dog loves to chew the squeakers out of the toy, you need not replace the whole toy. There are squeakers that you can purchase that you can simply insert in the toy. Make sure that you properly seal or sew the seam where you placed the new squeaker.

Once you notice the toy to be i-repairable, retrieve the battered toy immediately and replace with a new toy. It may take some time for your pet dog to get accustomed to its new toy and might still want to play with its old toy. But it will be better that way that to risk the safety of your dog.

Rotating dog squeaky toys is the best way to train your dog to easily get accustomed to new toys.

Training Your Dog

Aside from the regular dog squeaky toys varieties that you can find in pet stores, you can also give your dog some fun toys like tennis balls and Frisbees. Choose Frisbees that are made of cloth or soft rubber as these are less likely to hurt your dog’s teeth when they catch the disk from the air. Thick ropes can also be fun for dogs to play with. It can provide dogs with something to chew on and also makes for a good pull and tug activity. Make sure that this is supervised though. You can also add some interest in sterilized chewy dog bone by adding flavor to the bone. You can dip the chewy bone in sauce or place some cheese on the bone. It will make a fun treat for your dog. Chewy bones also help clean and strengthen dogs’ teeth and gums.

Never give your dog items like old shoes or clothes as play toys as it teaches dogs that they are allowed to play with other house items which may cause a problem for you in the future. Choose good dog toys that are safe and that your pet dog can enjoy. Dog squeaky toys make good items to promote bonding with your pet.

My name is Randy and I am the administrator for Dognpaws.com. I live in Pennsylvania and I have a Shitzu dog. She is 9 years old and has a big collection of Dog Squeaky Toys. She loves her Dog Squeaky Toys and plays with the same vigor as when she was a puppy. I suppose we have spoiled her to death because every month or two she expects a new toy. She gets tired of her old toys and wants some excitement in her life and Dog Squeaky Toys provide that. Of course, it also takes mommy and daddy playing about a half hour a night with her but she gets a lot of exercise. Most dogs love Dog Squeaky Toys but we carry many other types of dog toys for you to choose from. Frankly, I really look forward to developing this site and providing a store navigation menu that will easily allow you to shop for the type of dog toys you want. I have become frustrated with many of the other Dog Squeaky Toys online stores because they provide the same selection of toys for years. No variety. The local stores charge too much money and the selection again is very limited. I think you will like our store because we are associated with EBay and their prices and selection are quite amazing. The only problem with EBay is all dog toys are lumped under one category and you have to page through over 14,000 listings to find the Dog Squeaky Toys you want. We have solved that by providing a navigation menu that breaks these listings into several dog toy categories by dog size. For example by small, medium and large Dog Squeaky Toys or other dog toy types. I hope our website will be helpful and you decide to buy Dog Squeaky Toys now.
Over the next several weeks we will be adding several articles and posts about buying the right size and type dog toys for your dog. Please be patient as we get these articles posted. I hope you will find these articles of interest to you.
You can buy Dog Squeaky Toys at our store. We KNOW we have some real bargains compared to what you would pay at other stores.
Please feel free to post any comments or questions you may have on Dog Squeaky Toys.

Best regards,
Admin (Randy)
