Dog Toys for Large Chewing Dogs

Dog squeaky toys provide fun and entertainment and also make your pet smarter. If you are a dog owner you will routinely face yourself with these problems. So you dog’s chewed up a piece of furniture again? No matter what you do and how hard you train them, they just won’t let go of the chair leg? The bigger your dogs, more is the damage. At such times, good, durable dog squeaky toys are a great idea. However, there’s a very good chance that if your dog can eat through furniture – the chew toy will not last long. Fortunately for you, you’ve come to the right place – the Dog Squeaky Toys website – your one-stop shop for all the dog toy needs and solutions.

How long your furniture is going to be subjected to the torture of being chewed upon depends upon what dog you’ve got. I’ve accepted the fact that as long as Barker, my 2 year old Labrador has teeth – he will continue chewing, merrily so. I’ve also accepted the fact that Rob, my one year old retriever pup will continuing chewing until the furniture grows teeth and chews him back. (Although, I’m not sure if that’ll stop him either.) Well dogs are funny and that’s why we have dog squeaky toys.

Since I got Barker, my life has been a mission for truth – well, not exactly, but the truth behind what some of the dog squeaky toys claim to be and whether they really are value for your money. I’ve made some startling revelations. Although some toys have fulfilled their claims, many, I discovered, have only chewed upon my pockets.

Revelation 1: The Kong brand dog squeaky toys do not last very long. Barker was through with it within 2 days of chewing. Agreed that I had bought it for Rob when he was a few months old AND that Barker is a few pounds overweight than what the toy can handle, but two days? That’s it? Given their reputation and rating, it was a pretty sad situation for me and Barker.

Revelation 2: Barker could enter the Guinness Book of world records for chewing a toy up in the fastest time. He was done with the Booda brand’s ‘Dogzilla’ dog squeaky toys in twenty minutes flat. This was my second experience with these dog squeaky toys, the first one being a similar disappointer when I had a Promerian. I went back to the store the next day armed with the receipt, original packing and a conceited grin. Too bad I didn’t record Barker at it.

Revelation 3: Truth, at last! I found one, and it’s stayed for 2 years. Presenting the Nylabone Rhino Cone dog toys that Barker adores. I usually stuff these dog toys with treats (since its hollow) and Barker loves to work his way to them. It’s also got this bouncing thing going on, so my dogs are chasing it all over the yard. I also found another one – courtesy Rob’s trainer. It’s the Double Action chew. These dog squeaky toys are shaped like a barbell and have a minty flavor. Both the dogs can’t get enough of it.

Revelation 4: Truth does triumph! I found one that triumphed for over 3 years – and how! I bought the Hartz’s Chew-n-Clean dog squeaky toys (supposed to be good for your dog’s dental health) and Barker’s been at it for more than four years now, without even getting through the surface. It has now been passed onto Rob and both have not been able to make so much as a dent in this wheel of cogs.

Revelation 5: Holee Truth. I found the JW ‘Holee Roller’ dog squeaky toys to be quite a hit with my boys. I stuff the webwork like ball with biscuits and other goodies and my dogs keep at it, until they manage to get the biscuits. It keeps rolling around the house every now and then. I like giving my dogs some exercise every now and then, so I tie up old socks around the thing and watch them pull and pull and pull. These dog squeaky toys are great fun to play with.

Revelation 6: Holee Truth II. This other chew toy from JW is the most ‘funniest’ toy we’ve ever had. (It’s fun strictly for those of you who like loud annoying sounds). The JW Cuz Dog Squeaky Toys. These are 2 squeaky little balls that make the most annoying sound until the dog chews and finds what exactly is making the noise. Eventually the squeaker is found and dies. My dogs then squeeze the squeaker out of the ball. These balls come in a pair of two – a good Cuz and a bad Cuz. The bad Cuz has 2 little horns on its head (which btw, look extremely cute). They also have little legs, although it doesn’t take very long for them to get handicapped. But apart from that, the Cuz is still going pretty strong

Revelation 7: If all else fails, get the rope. I’m talking about the Tire Biter Paw Tracks Dog Squeaky Toys. I got my dogs. The first one I bought had a six inch rope and lasted about 9 months. The second one I’ve got has a 10 inch rope and my dogs can’t seem to get the whole thing into their mouth (which is a good thing). In both cases, even after the toy was destroyed, it was still used as a tug of war apparatus.

Dog squeaky toys are a great way for my dogs to live out their days when they were still wolves. Back then they ate raw meat, now sadly it’s been replaced by raw wood. Although the object’s changed, their ‘wolf mentality’ hasn’t. Get dog squeaky toys for your pet today! It’s worth it.
